Moments That Matter

Hello lovelies,

Since becoming a single lady (nearly a year and a half ago now, gosh where has the time gone!) I have been much more about focussing on myself and my ever so wonderful friends and family and living for the moment. Which includes, living life to the fullest, planning things to look forward to and making amazing memories.

This post is a little round up of a few of my favourite things 2013 had to offer in conjunction with Lloyds Bank Moment That Matters campaign, so I had a little look through my instagram and chose a few of my faves. I have already started making lots of plans for this year and have a few trips planned and in the pipeline!
My favourite memories from last year include:

Getting my little brum brum
Spending a few days in Whitby with Carla
Winter Wonderland with my best friends Sarah and Claire
Turkey
Gorgeous lagoon in Turkey
Paulas wonderful wedding
Dublin with my family
Going to see Pink! at the 02
Making snow angels drunk at 4am
The River Liffey on a sunny day

Honestly, there was so so much to chose from, on my instagram alone never mind the sheer amount of pictures I took last year and could have probably picked around 100 highlights however these are just a select few moments that mattered with my favourite people in the world.

What are our highlights of 2013?
xx

OOTD: Skinny Jeans and Faux Leather

Hey sweeties,

Happy Wednesday! Hope you're all doing okay. Outfit posts are not something I usually do on Dainty Dollymix (well to be fair, I haven't done a great deal the past year!) with it being a beauty blog and all. But I do love a good outfit post. As you are all probably aware, I am a larger lady and not the most fashionable but wanted to share with you what I wore.
Jacket: New Look
Top: Dorothy Perkins
Jeans: Dorothy Perkins
Shoes: Primark
Necklace: Vivienne Westwood
Ring: Pandora

I tried this New Look jacket on last week, took a picture of it on and ummed and arred for around 2 days before caving and ordering it. When you go away and think about something and cant get it out of your mind you know that you need it in life. I purchased online and its £34.99 although I was kindly offered a lovely girls student discount so got 20% off. Its pretty lightweight and thin, it waterfalls at the front and has faux leather sleeves. I have wore it a few times already, including at work and with jeans and over dresses. The link to the jacket is here if you are interested.

These jeans are my absolute current faves, I am in love! they're from Dorothy Perkins. I purchase pretty much all of my jeans from these. These are the baily super skinny stretch jeans and I also have them in indigo. I originally bought them for work but I have been wearing them for play too! they're skinny and stretchy and I turn the bottoms up ever so slightly. Even better I got them when they were 20% off and cost less than £18!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

London in Winter

Happy Monday!
I hope you are all okay and have managed to survive the first working day of the week! Only four more to go!

Links of London are asking their favourite bloggers to write about their favourite things to do in London and as I'm planning a trip to the capital soon I was only happy to help out.
I haven't been to London for a while, I am more than overdue a trip soon and me and Carla were talking about it recently actually. Definitely think I need to find a date in my diary when I can slot it in. I have be a fair few times and used to make it a annual trip until last time I went I got really poorly for a few days.

One of my favourite ever things to do in London is take a flight (preferably a champagne one) on the London Eye. I have only ever done it during the day, which is amazing as you get to see all the wonderful sights and views that London has to offer from above. However, I would love nothing more to take a evening trip on the eye when its all lit up and looking pretty and see London at night. I just think it would be the perfect opportunity to wrap up warm, sip champagne and see all the pretty lights whilst going round on the eye.
How stunning is this photo? The lights look amazing and how perfect would it look covered in snow? Seriously dreaming about visiting our wonderful capital right now!

I'm hoping to sneak a trip in very soon! What would your London in winter recommendations be?

Valentines Day Gift Ideas: Fragrance

Hello lovelies,

As I will be spending Valentines day as a single lady, I am going to treat myself and splurge on one of the things I probably own most of, perfume! I will be spending the day with my best friend Carla before we have a early start heading to Dublin on the Saturday morning for a few days.

This smells absolutely amazing and I have lusted after it for so long. It has notes of ginger, tiger orchid, tea rose and cedarwood so it is a fruity, floral fragrance. I would say it is a quite grown up scent without being too sickly and sweet. The smell lingers a while and I love the bottle and packaging, simple yet effective. £28.75 a bottle which is a saving of £5.25 on the RRP.
One of my faves, Very Wang princess is a fruity aroma with vanilla. The bottle is just adorable. Glass, shaped in a heart with a crown jewel lid that can double as a ring. This would make the perfect valentines day gift! £28.99 a bottle with a saving of over £5.
This is a fragrance I have purchased many times and love. Its quite a youthful fragrance and as it is Lacoste I'm sure it wouldn't suit everyone's tastes. However, having said that it is sweet and floral with notes of orange, coriander, cardamom, peach, blood orange, jasmine, violet, musk and vanilla and I am quite a fan. £20.95 with a saving of £5.05 on the RRP.
If you were to ask my all time favourite perfume in the whole wide world I would say Dolly Girl each and every time. I first got this when I was 13 and even at nearly 25 I still always have a bottle of the stuff. It smells amazing! It has fruity apple and melon notes with floral notes such as jasmine, lily of the valley and rose. £19.99 with a saving of £4 on the RRP.
 5. Diesel Loverdose EDP - 30ml*
This is a fragrance that my friends have owned and I have lusted after for such a long time. As it is a Eau De Parfum on first 'sniff' it is quite strong smelling but lasts a long time and smells more subtle. Allegedly it contains molecules inside that stimulate part of the brain that is responsible for lust and attraction hence the name. It is a spicy-floral scent and resembles a heart shaped diamond pierced with an arrow. £30.99 with a saving of £5 on the retail price.
Ladies, which is your favourite? What will you be asking your man for for Valentines day? Or like me, any you will be treating yourself to?
xx
