2015 New Year Resolutions

Hello my lovelies, I hope you all had the most amazing Christmas and spent it with family and friends. I had a wonderful time with my family and boyfriend and looking forward to a few years in Dublin for New Year.

I seem to set New Years Resolutions each and every year. Do i meet them? In a word, no. I go down the usual route of lose weight, exercise so this year and for 2015 i thought i would document my resolutions.

This year has been a bittersweet one. I met the man of my dreams who has well and truly made me believe in love again after serious heartbreak 2 years ago, however on the downside i lost my wonderful Dad to lung cancer a few weeks ago, the past month or so has been horrendous to say the least but i can only thank my wonderful friends and family for being so supportive as always.
I saw this floating around instagram and its from Lauren Conrads blog from last year but i liked it and it really made me think about my resolutions and how i see myself in 2015.

A bad habit i'm going to break...
To say i write a predominantly beauty based blog my skincare routing is pretty shocking. Im not as young as i was when i started this blog in 2009 and when youth was on my side, im in my mid-verging on late twenties now so should really start focussing on my skin and getting a set and proper skincare routine in place. That means less of the baby wipes when i cant be bothered ensuring i take off my make up every single night no matter how tired i am or how many glasses of prosecco have passed my lips.

A destination I'd like to visit...
As i said, i am seeing in the New Year in Dublin, Im going away with the girls to Majorca in April and have a trip to Cuba booked in August with my lovely boyfriend. Destination wise, im pretty sure thats as far as its going to stretch for next year however i would love a city break. Maybe somewhere like Amsterdam or Rome.

I'm going to work harder at...
For various reasons my blog has taken such a backseat the past couple of years. I seem to say it each and every year but i really want to put my all into my blog for 2015 and get into twitter and instagram a little more as i seem so out of reach with the wonderful blogging babes who i have made lovely friendships with. I intend to plan and schedule posts and be as active on here as i can be.
Another one is trying to worry less and saying yes more!

A project Id like to finish...
Not a project so to speak but I want to do more for others in 2015. I want to volunteer, donate to charity and homeless shelters and help those that are more disadvantaged than i am.

A class Id like to take...
Im already in the process of this one. When i say that i mean a facebook message has been sent out to my girlfriends asking if they want to take up a Zumba class we started a fair few years ago now, woops. So in the new year i will be donning my skintight nike leggings and getting my Zumba on!

I'd like to spend more time doing...
The past few months have made me realise the importance of family, and i know full well that i dont see them enough or as much as i would like. So i want to begin by putting other people first, spending time with others and making some wonderful memories that will last forever.
Id also like to spend more time reading, cooking, baking and outdoors and having more monthly me time pampering myself.

A food i want to eat more of...
I already eat too much food as it is. Im changing this one to i need to eat less food! Im much much heavier than i want to be or even comfortable at so i want to get back on the slimming world wagon (how many times have you said this i hear you cry) and maybe even join a class this time? One of my good friends is a consultant so i might give it a go. Again, i need to plan my meals, write up my shopping lists and get properly organised for both work and home.

I want to wear more...
Dresses, particularaly  in a smaller size! It pains me when i have to reach for a hanger in a bigger size. I used to absolutely live in dresses! Now theres not a day that doesnt go by when i dont have a pair of jeans on!

What are your New Year resolutions?

Stocking Fillers By Burts Bees

This year Burts Bees have brought out some cute little christmas offerings in the form of the Hive Favourites in Beeswax* and also the Pomegranate version of A Bit Of Burts Bees*, both which i believe would make the perfect little stocking filler or secret santa!
The Hive favourites in Beeswax contains a 25g Milk and Honey body lotion and also a beeswax lip balm and is available from Boots for £5.99 (With 3 for 2 currently across all gifts). The pomegranate A Bit of Burts Bees set contains a lemon butter cuticle cream, which by the way is one of my favourite products by Burts Bees, it smells lush, and also a replenishing lip balm with pomegranate oil, again retailing for £5.99.

The Burts Bees lip balms have quite a waxy texture to them, as you would expect but the pomegranate scent is definitely my new favourite. Quick and easy to use and perfect to throw into your handbag!

You can view the whole range on the Burts Bees Website.

L'Occitane Arlesienne Eau De Toilette

Hello lovelies,

Over the years ive made it no secret on this blog that i absolutely love L'Occitane fragranaces (and most of their products pretty much!) and their newest addition is no different.

The Arlesienne range is the newest collection to hit the L'Occitane shelves which includes a fragrance, shower cream, candle, hand cream amongst many more products.
I am a sucker for sweet smelling floral fragrances and with the three floral notes of Arlesienne being Saffron Flower, Rose and Violet, I was sold from the off! It has top notes of saffron and mandarin, heart notes of rose and lily and sandalwood, violet and tonka bean as base notes. 'The Arl├ęsienne fragrance evokes the woman of Arles - full of mystery, beauty and grace'.

The bottle is simple, yet elegant. A clear glass bottle with the name scrolled down the front and flowers engraved down the back and a gold lid. The packaging is pink and floral, which fits in with the theme and collection. The fragrance itself, is light, fresh and floral which is long lasting and a pale shade of pink.

The Arlesienne fragrance retails for £39 for 75ml and is available from the L'Occitane Website here.

Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O' Blushes

Hello ladies, another make up post for you today!

I have really got on the make up christmas offerings this year! This is the first set i purchased and its the Box O' Blushes by Benefit. For me, one of my favourite products from Benefit are there box o blushes and over the years i have had various different shades. Currently I only own one which is Bella Bamba and that is on its last legs! I saw this and fell in love, pretty typical Sinead to be honest!
For £29.50 this gift set contains 6 of Benefits most famous blushes inculding Dandelion, Hoola, Bella Bamba, Coralista, Sugarbomb and Rockateur as well as Watts Up Highlighter. Size wise the blushes range from 4-6g with 1.5g of Watts Up highlighter which is most definitely more than half the size of a full size blush that retails for £23.50.

My favourite shade has to be Coralista, I seem to have forgotten how much i actually love this blush, its just the most perfect shimmery coral shade. I am thrilled that they included a bronzing shade in with this kit too as i find it pretty much covers all bases, especially with the cream highlighter too.
I personally love the packaging, its in a sweetshop shaped tin which i'm sure would be reusable once the products have finished.

I purchased this set from Feel Unique for £29.50, however they now seem to have sold out, fingers crossed you can pick one up from your Benefit Counter!

Do you manage to snaffle one of these sets?

NARS Christmas Offerings From SpaceNK

I do love NARS. Its up there with one of my favourite make up brands. Their Sheer Glow foundation is my all time favourite out of any foundation i've tried, so much so i don't feel the need to try another one ever again, extreme? Maybe.
The holiday gift sets that NARS bring out around the festive season are in my opinion out of this world and beat MAC and any other make up brand offerings. I scoped out the Space NK website as they sometimes have NARS christmas gifts that are exclusive to them and literally could not take my eyes off the Virtual Domination Cheek Palette. I mulled this over and ummed and arred about it for a fair few days before finally purchasing and boy am i so glad i did! In the past i've missed out on stunning NARS cheek palettes that i knew this time i just couldn't pass this one up! For £45, this palette contains 3 blush shades in Final Cut, Deep Throat and Sex Fantasy, Laguna Bronzing Powder and also Miss Liberty Highlighting blush. The best thing being that i don't own any of these shades, score! The combined retail of this palette is £117 so quite a bargain if i do say so myself, lets just call it an early Christmas present to me from me. I love the packaging, its a far cry from the rubbery black packaging that NARS use for their blushes and bronzers and in a white, plastic compact which i must admit i definitely prefer. You get 4.5g of product of each of the blushes and 10g of the bronzer, which correct me if i'm wrong i'm sure is full size.
Onto the next NARS purchase and this is the set that out of the two i would have left behind, which would have been the worst mistake ever! To me the Digital World Pencil Set had my name written all over it. The colours all looked wearable, i knew that i would not let any of the shades go to waste and for £32 for 5 travel size pencils, I knew that it was quite the bargain. I must admit, the colours don't last too long and they do fade quite easily so a top up is required, but they feel soft and creamy on the lips, have a good colour pay off and are just quite dreamy. The shades included are Torres Del Paine, Descanso and Yu which are all satin lip pencils and also Iberico and Cruella which are velvet matte pencils. The only one i am yet to try is the dark pink, the others are beautiful.

If i had to choose a favourite? I'm not sure i could! They are both as equally stunning and great value for money. I'm sure it depends on if you are a cheek or lip girl. Me personally? both!

Space NK are also offering free delivery and gift wrap on all orders! Treat yourself, its christmas!

Clarins Ever Matte Powder and Bronzing Duo

Happy Friday!

Clarins is always a brand i have loved the look of from afar but never divulged and purchased or tried any of the pieces myself. Recently, I received the Clarins Ever Matte powder in shade 01 transparent light and also the Bronzing Duo also in 01 light from Escentual.

Let me first talk a little about Escentual, Escentual is a website that i have used many many times. Their customer service is great, they offer free UK delivery on orders over £30, every order i have ever had comes with samples and a escentual nail file and the prices are extremely competitive and i usually find much cheaper than elsewhere hence why i keep going back time and time again. They stock many skincare, fragrance and beauty brands from Dior, Michael Kors, Too Faced, YSL etc and many french skincare brands such as Bioderma and Caudalie, as you can see i cant rave about them enough!
Back to the two items in question. I fancied a new face powder, I was at the stage in make up life when my concealer, powder and foundation all needed replacing at the same time, and its an expensive business. However, as much as it is my holy grail and i have repurchased it more times than i have fingers, the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural was just not cutting it for me anymore and left me looking a shiny mess a lot of the time, although im not sure if my skintone is changing to slightly more oily, but anyway that's another story! I eyed up the Clarins Ever Matte mineral powder and the gold packaging, i must admit had my sold. It looked so shiny and pretty! The compact had a mirror, there was 10g of product and it looked like something i would definitely get along with. Needless to say i wasnt wrong. This is such a lightweight powder, that is matte and true to its word keeps shine at bay, winner. I believe the RRP is £27, but the wonderful Escentual have it on offer for £23.75 and it comes in 4 shades.
Onto the bronzer, I was in need of a new bronzer as my most recent one dropped and smashed into a million tiny pieces all over my cream carper (sob!) Keeping in line with the Clarins theme, i opted for the bronzing duo, again in the fancy packaging, in the shade 01 light as i have fair skin. As far as bronzers go this one builds up nicely without looking cakey and gives a nice glow and hint of colour. Its a duo so slightlty darker on one side however i swirl my brush around both. The retail price is £28 but Escentual have done it again and sell it for £24.60 for 10g of product

Two words: Clarins Convert! Thank you Escentual for introducing me into the lovely world!

Have you tried Clarins before? If so, whats your go to product?

Blogging Tips: Buying a Domain Name

Hello lovelies,

I thought i would do a little series of blog posts on blogger tips, such as buying a domain name and choosing a blog name. The first one up is buying a domain name.

I have been writing for just over 5 years now (how time flies when youre having fun!) for the first year or so i kept with, it didnt take me long however to decide that i wanted my own domain name and that i wanted to buy my own .com and after a year of non stop blogging i went ahead and purchased myself one.
It sounds like such a scary thought getting yourself out there on the big world wide web but honestly buying your own domain name is such a simple process. Of course you need to decide on your blog name first, that's going to come in another blog post. But for me, it was simple, i already had my blog name that i had been using for a year and i didn't want to go back on that. I was committed and didn't want to change it, i wanted to stick with that for my domain! There are millions of websites on the internet these days, so you need to have something original and unique that doesn't already have a URL which can be tricky business.

What i didn't know about buying my own domain name was just how inexpensive it was, you sign up for a year (with some companies a minimum of two years) for around £10 a year, which i thought was incredible and swayed my decision to buy my own domain further.

There are many websites in the UK and worldwide that you can now purchase a domain through. For me, i went straight through blogger and purchased mine through there as i thought it was the simple and easy option, however in hindsight there are many other websites that offer this service and i would have probably shopped around a little more, so to speak, if i was purchasing another domain.

I came across the 34SP Website that offers many domain types such as or com for as little as £10 per year for a minimum of two years. The website is easy to navigate which is also a bonus and right at the top there is a search bar for you to type a key word into and all the available domains and the prices will come up. Already have a domain? No problem, you can transfer yours over to 34SP for free and best of all they are based in the UK with 98% of customers recommending their services. They have also been named one of the Top 50 Most Reliable Web Hosts which is definitely something to consider when purchasing your own domain.

One of the best things i ever did regarding my blog was purchasing my own domain name, i guarantee you wont regret it!

Replica Watches: Quality Vs Looks

When it comes to replica watches, the two most important factors that we consider are quality and looks. On one hand, quality is something essential if we have the slightest expectation to be able to actually use the watch and on the other hand looks is what convinced us in the first place to buy this king of fake products instead of an affordable original brand watch. Still, the countless unsatisfied replica customers have proven that knockoffs are far from achieving an ideal proportion between quality and looks.
Besides looks, a watch implies good time accuracy, high quality materials and a good durability. In order to be exact and function correctly, a watch must have a decent inside mechanism. The original companies use a very complex automatic movement that until now, even the best fake manufacturers weren’t able to replicate it. Instead, fake  companies offer knockoffs with a poor quality movement, a movement that rarely tells time correctly, that does not support the chronograph function or breaks after a couple of months of use. Most replica shoppers report problems regarding time accuracy. The fake product either loses large amounts of time or stops while wearing it.
An original designer watch is made from solid stainless steel, platinum or real gold; also, it uses real diamonds and sapphire crystal. Of course, replica manufacturers cannot make a watch out of real platinum or gold. They make all the watches from stainless steel, some are better than others, and for the gold ones they use gold plating which isn’t very resistant. Usually, the gold color starts to wear off after one or two months of daily wear. This is a serious problem as once this happens; you can’t wear the watch anymore. Only a few replicas have an actual sapphire crystal, the majority use a mineral crystal that tends to scratch and break very easily. Instead of real diamonds, fake watches have cubic zirconium. These stones look very nice, but they scratch, crack or fall off very easily.
Let’s be honest! No one wants to pay $200-$600 for a replica watch that he can’t use after a couple of months. Regardless, if you are buying the lower grade Japanese fake watch or the so called higher quality Swiss knockoff, you want to be able to wear it for a very long time. For some people, even two years isn’t enough to make this investment worth it. There are some affordable original brand timepieces that cost less and will work for 10 years or more. Now, after reading all the above information about the quality of the movement and materials used to make these replica watches, I think you can understand that you can’t actually count on a high durability. The life span is uncertain, from a couple of days to a maximum of two years. It all depends on your luck, because in the end buying a replica watch is a matter of luck. This being said, I must ask this question: why not choose something certain instead? Why not buy an original watch that you can afford instead of gambling your money unnecessarily?

Review: Tanya Burr and Eye Candy Nail Polish & Swatches

Hello ladies,

The Tanya Burr Lips and Eyes collection by Eye Candy has had most beauty bloggers going crazy this year since its launch. It was first exclusive to Feel Unique and now it has also been rolled out into Superdrug stores too.

The whole collection consists of 12 lipglosses and 10 nail polish shades. I managed to get my hands on five of the shades. I really do think there is something for everyone with some stunning colours that will quite literally take you through the year.

The shades i have are:
Mischief Managed (Classic red)
Little duck (Mint green)
Penguin Chic (Neutral Grey)
Bright and Early (Coral)
Riding Hood (Deep red)
All the swatches are one coat only. They were all glossy and applied well. The only one i had a little trouble with was little duck (possibly my favourite shade!) as it seemed to go on a little bumpy and not as smooth as the others.

The nail polishes retail for £5.99 each and the lip glosses £6.99 each however Feel Unique currently have a sale on where prices start from £3.29 and there is free shipping when you spend £10, bargain!

Whats your favourite? Im kind of torn between little duck and bright and early, although penguin chic will be great for Autumn! Ah i love them all! I think im missing a pink in my collection though, may have to rectify that one!

Birchbox August 2014

Happy Monday sweetpeas!

This months Birchbox is holiday themed! Definitely my favourite time of the year!
Whats in the box:
Liaison de parfum: I dare you

I love a fragrance sample, especially one from a brand that i have never heard of. This is a 2ml sample size of the Liaison de Parfum in the scent I dare you. Full size 100ml retails for £105 so just over £1 per ml making this sample worth around £2. It is extremely strong, quite woody and masculine and couldnt be further than the scents i would usually choose to spritz. It reminds me of incense sticks, definitely quite a tricky one to describe, but all in all, not my cup of tea.

Number 4: Super comb prep & protect

This is a leave in conditioning spray by Number 4 that detangles and helps protect hair against heat and sun damage. This is a 30ml sample with the full size being 200ml and setting you back £20 making this sample worth around £3. I have the thickest, knottiest hair imaginable, no matter what amazing shampoo or conditioner i use and this helps to detangle when combing through after my hair has just been washed. Perfect travel size too!

Supergoop: Daily correct SPF CC Cream

I am going to be 100% honest and admit that i didnt fully know what a CC cream was until reading the leaflet. They are, however a natural shade-adjusting cream that contains SPF to smooth fine lines and even out skin tone. What i first thought? Im 25, sounds perfect! The box contains two teeny 3ml sample tubes of the same product for light to medium skin, which will suit my skin tone however not sure about those with paler or darker skin. It felt amazing on the face and left a very sheer, light coverage and my skin looked dewy and healthy. The full size 47ml tube retails for £32, making this 6ml sample around £4, a little pricey in my opinion, i would rather invest in a foundation with more coverage.

Wild about beauty creme eyeshadow.

This wild about beauty creme eyeshadow for me is the star product of the box. I opened the packaging in anticipation hoping for a shade that i would wear and bingo out popped Olivia a pale, shimmery champagne colour that is right up my street. With it being a creme eyeshadow i would probably use this as more of a base underneath my powder eyeshadow to make them last longer and so that it doesnt smudge. Perfect product for me, is full size and retails for £13.

Nude: Progenius omega treatment oil

This Nude progenius omega treatment oil is a face oil to be used after you have cleansed and before moisturising. I received a small 5ml sample in a pump bottle. A 30ml tube of this will set you back a whopping £58 making this sample worth nearly £10, wowsers! Its suitable for normal to dry skin so with my combination skin im not sure how ill fair with this, Ill let you know how i get on!

Bonus product
The Proposal by Tasmina Perry

I love a good book. Admittedly i dont read as often as i should, or would like but for holidays around the pool or on the plane a book is essential. This is the first chapter of this book that if i am correct flitters between modern Manhattan and fifties London. I shall definitely give the first part a read.

All in all, a nice little box this months. As i said, star product is definitely the eyeshadow. I always get so much use out of make up products in beauty boxes. The contents total up to around £32 so over 3 times the monthly amount paid plus the added bonus of the book sample and the clear, plastic pouch that will be perfect for travel.

You can sign up to Birchbox here for £10 per month plus £2.95 postage.

Did you get this months Birchbox? What are your thoughts?

Trueskin Medispa

Hello lovelies,

I know that most women (and men!) are huge fans of taking some relaxing time out and there's nothing i love more than a trip to the spa.
Trueskin Medispa are a clinic and spa with three locations across the UK in Harley Street, Esher and Bluewater that pride themselves in offering five star service and treatments to their clients. They offer a full range of advanced skincare and spa treatments that you may require including cellulite removal, laser treatments, tattoo removal in their Harley Street clinic as well as spa treatments such as manicures, pedicures and massages in their Medispas.
Their aim is to introduce their clientele to the right skincare regime so that they can achieve amazing results as most people use skincare that is not suitable for their skin type or condition. They have tailored treatments to suit all whether it be some 'me' time that you are after or effective solutions for skin problems such as Acne, lines and wrinkles and cellulite.
They have a huge range of treatments available and the extensive list is available to view here.

The one thing that caught my eye in particular were the Spa Packages. I love a good Spa day trip or overnight trip. I liked the look of the Trueskin Holiday Essentials package in particular, perfect if you are due to be jetting off. Its £100 for 2 hours and 15 minutes and includes a Elemis Exotic lime and ginger scrub, a Jessica Manicure, A Jessica Pedicure, a Eyelash tint and a Eyebrow tint and shape. The perfect package to get your body holiday ready.

They also do amazing wedding packages for brides to be and also the hen party starting from a reasonable £50, what a wonderful idea!

I am going to London next week so i might find myself at Trueskin booking myself in, I could definitely do with a post holiday pedicure. Prices are extremely reasonable with an hours massage starting from £55 and all prices can be found on the website.

Glossybox August 2014: 3rd Anniversary Box

Hello lovelies,

I haven't posted a Glossybox post up in such a long time, over a year now and was sent the 3 year anniversary box so thought i would do a little update. First things first, I cannot believe that Glossybox has been around for 3 years already! Where on earth has the time gone? I remember posting about the first ever box here which honestly doesn't seem like two minutes ago!
The packaging is pretty much exactly the same, comes in a hard pale pink box full of black tissue paper and ribbon. However instead of getting the one card that explained the contents and gave a description on each you now get a fold up booklet with in depth information about each product.

I literally ripped open the packaging like a kid at Christmas (so apologies for the lack of pretty packaging pictures!) and was pleasantly surprised with what was housed underneath the tissue and ribbon.

Included in this months box:
Lalique by L'Amour Perfume sample

This is a teeny tiny 2ml sample of this perfume that personally i had never heard of before (just me or have i been living under a rock?). I was pleasantly surprise when i took the lid off and rubbed it on my wrist. It is an extremely floral scent, that i dont find too overpowering with notes of bergamont, rose and sandalwood. Just wonderful! The only downfall? This badboy will set you back £67 for 50ml, wowsers! I shall savour my small sample then!

Kryolan for Glossybox highlighter in Cashmere

Kryolan is a brand i have heard of but never had the chance of using, i also love a good highlighter so this is win win. At 4.5g this is a full size product that retails for £12.95 and is actually available to purchase on the Kryolan website however i imagine in slightly different packaging. It is a stunning shimmery champagne colour that i will get a lot of wear out of.

Figs & Rouge Hand cream

This 20ml sample of Figs & Rouge Mango Mandarin hand cream is the perfect size to throw in your handbag or for travel. As sad as it sounds i absolutely love the tube and the scent is just stunning, it smells exactly as it suggests. The full size tube is 4 times the size of this sample (80ml) and retails for £6.95.

Yves Rocher Pink nail polish

This nail polish seems so small however it is a full size bottle that retails for £3.60. I actually dont mind a small bottle as i have so many bottles of nail polish as it is and rarely paint my nails as i go and get them done so many bottles go to waste and go gloopy! I have used Yves Rocher before (their mascara is amazing FYI!) The shade is called 'Rose', simple and straight to the point, it covers well and isnt as sheer as i was expecting.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

For me, this is the winning product of the box. Out of all the beauty boxes i have tried and tested over the years i have never ever received this after lusting after it for so long and it coming up a few times. This is a 40ml sample size with the full size 250ml retail for £38 making this worth around £6. I am yet to try it, but i will be sure to have a review for you when i have. This is a pre shampoo treatment that claims to moisturise and nourish the hair.

Comfort Zone Cleansing Milk

I have never heard of Comfort Zone and im not the biggest cleansing milk fan, great start Sinead! However, I am willing to give most products a bash and you never know i might surprise myself! This is a full size product also that is 200ml and retails for £19.50 so a great beauty box find!

Overall, I was pretty impressed with this months Glossybox. It includes 3 full size products so for a monthly, sample box this is pretty incredible. The products are worth just short of £50 so not bad for £10 a month.

You can Sign up here.

Did you receive this months box? What are your thoughts?

Choosing The Right Engagement Ring

Hey lovelies,

Maybe a little something for the men today? Or for you to be able to choose your dream ring or narrow down your choices? As I am yet to get a ring on my finger, believe me I am waiting, I came across a post from celebrity jeweller and founder of on the evolution of an engagement ring and what to look out for when choosing the right ring for you ( I thought this would fit right on in for

 * Style
* Shape
* Size
* Comfort
* Bespoke Design
Choosing an engagement ring goes far beyond buying a symbolic piece of jewellery. Not only does it signify a trilogy of commitment, love and passion, its also a clear representation of individual style, personality and flair. With more and more celebrities getting married and flashing their impressive size rocks, it’s only natural to be confused when picking the right engagement ring for you. Although this decision can be nerve-racking, when selecting your engagement ring, it is essential that it represents a true reflection of you.
Rest assure, this doesn’t need to be a stressful experience, as the right amount of knowledge will make this an enjoyable exercise.
Vashi’s top SIX tips to choosing the right engagement ring for you.
1. Style
Your style is down to personal taste and there is no wrong or right way to empathise this in your engagement ring. Consider designs that you think will stand the test of time, especially if you think your taste is likely to change and evolve. Themed and/or coloured stones are definitely ones to consider especially when deciding between a more traditional or trend lead ring ( your research, and once you’ve narrowed it down, you can shop for the best quality ring and style that will have you glowing for years to come.
2. Shape
This is probably the hardest stage to decipher, since there are over 10 different diamond shapes to choose from. Solitaire and emerald cut diamonds are popular choices for engagement rings. Try on a few different styles to decide which shape suits you best and have fun deciding whether you’re an emerald-cut, solitaire or Princess-cut kind of girl.
 3. Sizing
When buying a diamond, it’s important that you’re knowledgeable on the magic carat weights. They are 1/2ct, 3/4ct, 1ct, 1.5ct, 2ct etc. 'Under-sizes' are diamonds that weigh just below a magic weight. If you’re looking for a bargain and are interested in choosing a 1ct diamond why not go for a 0.95cts, as there’s very little visual difference between the two, that even most jewellers wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Not to mention the additional bonus of saving up to 30%. Another factor to consider is re-sizing, as you may find over the years that your ring may become loose or tight. For this reason alone, it’s best to find a reputable retailer that offers re-sizing for free. we offer a lifetime warranty and free ring resizing.
4. Comfort
If you enjoy an active lifestyle or have a manual element in your work, you may want to opt for an engagement band that is robust, secure and doesn’t scratch easily. A diamond engagement ring with a huge stone looks fantastic, but you may find it uncomfortable in the long run especially if your day to day requires tremendous use of your hands. Stones that are not diamonds i.e. gemstones can be easily scratched or get caught in clothing. If you find that you have to remove your rings on a regular basis, you may wish to opt for a plain band, which can be easily replaced if you lose it. Ring bands range from white gold, platinum, and silver to yellow gold. Gold, whether in white or yellow, is the most popular and enduring choice. I recommend that you purchase a ring cast in gold purer than 18 carats, as 24 carat (minimum of 99%) gold is very soft - this can lead to quicker and more extensive damage and warping.
5. Bespoke design
Why not go the extra mile with a personalised and bespoke engagement ring. You will find many jewellers offer a bespoke service which is ideal for those who can’t decide. Don’t be shy to buy loose diamonds and work with your jeweller to create the perfect ring. The four Cs method (cut, clarity, colour and carat weight) is the perfect way to figure out your diamond preference. The brilliance of a diamond depends on its cut, the clarity refers to the amount of small imperfections within the diamond that affect its brilliance (in the world of diamonds, the clearer the better), the absence of colour allows a diamond to really sparkle, making it more desirable and the carat weight is the unit of weight by which the diamond is measured. The higher the carat weight, the bigger, and therefore more valuable the diamond. Another way to personalise your engagement ring, is to engrave it with a special message.
 6. Budget
Despite all the tales of how much an engagement ring should cost, the truth of the matter is every couple is different. I would recommend that you spend whatever feels right for you; however there is no need to start your marital life in debt. Prices tend to be cheaper for online purchases compared to retail stores. My advice would be to buy from a recognised and reputable brand as they will be able to support you in the future or offer additional services from years to come.
