Marc By Marc Jacobs

Hi guys,

On Sunday i was in Manchester for the Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation bloggers event (which i will be posting about shortly) but had a cheeky bit of time before that to hit the shops. First place i went to was Selfridges as its my closest one to home, and had one thing in mind that i wanted to buy.
I have been a long time lover of gold (look/plated) jewellery and you will always see me sporting this over silver and have quite fancied some of the Marc By Marc Jacobs earrings for a while so thought it was the perfect opportunity to treat myself as they are quite hard to find online and i hardly ever go to Manchester (Justification right?)

I picked up the Marc By Marc Jacobs Gold Turnlock Earrings which i had spied before, that were £35 and absolutely tiny! They are perfect for an everyday earring that will go well with anything. As the name suggests they have a small turnlock with Marc By Marc Jacobs embossed on them.
As much as i love make up and beauty, jewellery and watches come a very close second and i must admit i do much prefer the finer things in love in regards to this and it would usually be a piece from the Vivienne Westwood collection however they havent brought out much jewellery that i have liked and havent already got for a while.

They are also available in rose gold and silver and you can buy them from Bloomingdales.

Whats your favourite jewellery brand?

Jemma Kidd Blush & Lipgloss

Hello ladies,

Last week i was invited to a Jemma Kidd beauty event but unfortunately i was unable to attend so i was sent a couple of the Jemma Kidd cosmetic products.

Jemma Kidd is a brand i have heard so much about, especially in the beauty blogging community as their light of air foundation and the dewy glow radiance creme are a big hit on beauty blogs.
I was sent a powder blush and a lipgloss from the range.

The blush is the Chic Cheek Powder Blush in 02 Paris that is a dark berry toned matte pink. It comes in a vibrant pink box with a cut out window so you can see the actual product. The blush itself comes in a clear plastic compact with JK Jemma Kidd written on the top in bold pink.  It feels buttery soft to touch and is quite pigmented in one swipe.  One thing i would say is that the closure doesnt feel too secure as it just closes shut without a clasp. The blush is 5g in size and retails for £12 which you can buy from here.
The lipgloss is the Air Kiss Shine Lipgloss in shade 09 Flaunt which is a sheer baby pink. It smells absolutely amazing and has a lovely sheen as it has a hint of shimmer running through it. It doesnt feel sticky at all on the lips and more like a balm. I think this would look gorgeous over a matte pink lipstick to give it a more glossy finish. They have a doe foot applicator which is my personal favourite in a lipgloss as i find you have more control when applying. The Air Kiss shine lipglosses retail for £9 and are available to buy on the Jemma Kidd Website.
I really like and will use both products that i have been sent and think the price point is good as it is a little more expensive than drugstore but still cheaper than high end which is where i see the Jemma Kidd brand. I would love to get my hands on the light as air foundation, that is definitely on my wish list!

Are there any Jemma Kidd products that you love?

GOSH Cosmetics Smokey Eyes Palette 01 Black

Hello cupcakes,

I recently got my hands on the GOSH Cosmetics Smokey Eyes Palette* in 01 Black that is made up of 4 eyeshadow shades ranging from white to black that are perfect for a smokey eye. The idea behind it is to wear the lightest shade over the lid and up to the brow bone, one over the lid, one in the crease and one in the outer corner.
As you can see the palette includes a white, pale silver, dark grey and black. As far as pigmentation goes, they are pretty pigmented and have a good colour payoff but they are not the most intense eyeshadows i have ever swatched, although the black shade is probably the strongest out of the 4. Theyre buttery soft to touch but not by any means chalky and have little fall out. They have slight shimmer in each of them however it isnt in the slightest glittery or too over the top.
They come in a square, black plastic compact that has a clear lid with GOSH written on the front on black and have a magnetic closure making it travel friendly. I would have loved if they came with a mirror as i like them on eyeshadow compacts.

This palette will retail for £7.99 and each eyeshadow is 2g in weight which makes it £2 per shade which is amazing bearing in mind MAC shadows are 1.5ml and retail for around £10 each.

You can grab yours from Superdrug in April and they come in 3 shades, black, plum and brown.

Is this something that you would pick up?
I have a few more GOSH cosmetics posts coming up so look out for those!

Sleek MakeUP Blush By 3 Pumpkin & Swatches

Happy Saturday lovelies!

As you may have already read, i recently did a quick post on the Sleek MakeUP Blush By 3 here however i was recently sent one to try myself.
I was sent the shade Pumpkin which is a trio of gorgeous orange, pink and dark coral which would be absolutely perfect for spring/summer and covers a range of colours and finishes in a handy, compact palette. Doesnt it just scream Summer to you?

'Lantern' is a dark coral bordering on red with a slight shimmer, 'Squash' is a true matte pink that looks quite scary in the pan and would require a light hand and 'P Pie' is a matte orange that again would only require a light dusting.
I absolutely love this palette and when in store didnt pay much attention to it as i was gutted i couldnt get my hands on the 'Lace' palette so passed this up aswell but i would say it was the most versatile out of all the palettes released.

The weight of the 3 blushes in the palette is 20g which makes each one nearly 7g each so they are slightly smaller than the individual blushes that have 8g of product but retail for £4.29.

Blush By 3 is available in 5 shades: Pumpkin Flame, Lace, Pink Sprint and Brown Sugar and retail for £9.99.

Blush By 3 are available in Superdrug stores until 11th April and permanently at Superdrug in Marble Arch London, however the good news is that they are now available to buy online at sleekmakeup.com. Grab yours now! I may have to pick up the palette in 'Lace'!

Do you like the look of 'Pumpkin'?

The Harrods Edition Glossybox March 2012

Hello lovelies

I hope you are well!

I received my Glossybox* last week but it has been stuck at Royal Mail so i do apologise for the delayed post! As you are all proably well aware by now, this months Glossybox is a special Harrods edition. As always, i had to have a sneak peek at all of the other combinations for this limited edition box on other blogs and there has been quite a few stand out products, especially the mini Burberry lipstick (Which i unfortunately didnt receieve!)

Heres the contents of my box this month:
♥ Versace Vanitas Versace EDP ♥
This is quite a hefty sample (4.5ml) and housed in the most gorgeous little glass bottle perfect for popping into your handbag. It smells floral but luxurious and definitely not sweet. I was shocked to find out that 30ml of this perfume costs £45 so it is not the cheapest perfume on the market, making this sample worth around £7 compared to the full size price.
♥ Bliss Blood Orange and White Pepper Body Butter ♥
Bliss is a range that i have always admired from afar and never used any of the products from the line. This is the blood orange and white pepper body butter. It comes in the same kind of tube and packaging as the full size version which i always like when it comes to samples and you get 50ml which is a quarter of the size of a full size tube that retails for £20, making this worth around £5. I love mini body butters for holidays and nights away as you never need any more than this for a mini break so i will definitely be keeping this aside.
♥ Revive Intensite Creme ♥
I have never heard of or used Revive products is an intensive, firming moisturiser that claims to help reduce the appearance of sagging skin. This definitely fits into a Harrods Edition box as a little search showed that a 60ml pot of this cream actually retails for £235 believe it or not so the 7ml size sample pot that you get in this months box seems quite a lot of product in comparison! In line with the price of 60ml this sample is worth roughly a whopping £27, looking forward to trying this one (although never being able to repurchase!)
♥ Leighton Denny Nail Colour ♥
I dont think i have ever used Leighton Denny polishes either although always heard and read a lot about them. This shade in 3 times a lady is a pale pink that goes on quite sheer in one coat but looks nice as a simple, manicured nail. I plan on building it up opaque (which im guessing will take around 3 coats) and thinking it will be a gorgeous, baby pink. This is a 4.6ml sample size with full size 12ml Leighton Denny polishes retailing for £11, making this sample worth around £4.
♥ Clarins Extra Firming Body Cream ♥
I was really happy to see a good sized (30ml) Clarins product in this months Glossybox. This is the extra firming body cream that can be used all over the body to help restore skins youthful density and elasticity. 200ml retails for £39.50 making this sample worth around £6.
According to my calculations this months box is worth around £50 so not bad considering you pay £10 plus £2.95 shipping. I do really like all the products in this months box and there isnt one thing that i wont use. The stand out products for me are the Clarins Extra Firming body cream and also the Versace Vanitas perfume as its always nice to have a nice scent in a decent sized sample bottle.

Did you get this months Harrods Glossybox? What are your thoughts?

Loreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara & Super Liner

Hello lovelies,

I have been using the Loreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara* in hypnotic brown and the Super Liner* in intense black for a good few weeks now.
Super Liner Perfect Slim - £6.99
I use liquid eyeliner on a daily basis and much prefer sponge tip applicators or eye liner pens so was looking forward to trying the Loreal Super Liner. As the name suggests it has a super fine nib that is perfect for drawing thin, precise lines but can just as easily be used to draw a thicker line that can be filled in with the pen which is what i do. I have also found that even a eyeliner newbie like myself i am starting to perfect winged eyeliner thanks to this eyeliner. The eyeliner pen itself is quite long and thin so it isnt fiddly to hold which is a bonus and it goes in at the top where you hold it so it is comfortable to hold. I have been using mine religiously daily for a good few weeks and it is still just as intense and doesnt seem to be running out anytime soon. It is hard wearing and long lasting throughout the day and stays black black. It dries extremely quick, honestly i have no complaints. When i was in Boots the other day i had a look at the price point and it retails for £6.99 which i was honestly quite shocked out. I will definitely be repurchasing this and it will be my eyeliner of choice from now on! I even think it was on 3 for 2! Bargain!
False Lash Telescopic Mascara - £10.99
I am always on the hunt for a holy grail mascara and have never actually tried the Loreal telescopic mascaras. This particular one comes in a shiny, silver tube. It has a plastic curved comb with short, spikey bristles that are quite flexible. The mascara doesnt feel wet or runny either and just enough product comes out of the tube and onto the brush. I found that it separated and coated lashes well, without being the slightest bit clumpy or spidery and even though it was in the shade hypnotic brown it didnt look too obvious and blended in with the black eyeliner i was wearing. One coat of this mascara i found was enough for everyday but would definitely build it up to wear on a evening.

Have you tried any of these products from Loreal? What are your thoughts?

IMATS 2012 Haul

Hello lovely,

Yes you are reading correctly! This is a post on my IMATS buys! IMATS London was in fact a month and a half ago and i have only got round to posting! I must admit i was ill for most of the weekend i was down in London so it kinda sucked some fun out of the time i was there and i didnt last that long at the show iteself thats why this post has been put off!

I was extremely fortunate to actually receive a press pass for IMATs this year around. We arrived for around 8.30am after getting the tube to Wood Green and then a taxi to Alexandra palace. This year the room had actually moved so it was much bigger, with the same amount of stands so there was more room to move around. It wasnt too busy as soon as we arrived but filled up pretty quickly.

I only bought a couple of things from two brands this year. I was much more savvy with my money this year than i was last year and had a mini list of a couple of things i wanted to buy. Illamasqua was on my list but there stand was just manic and i struggled to get in but they had some amazing bargains such as cream blushes for £5, foundation for £7.50 and pencils for £2, rumour has it that everything was 3 for £10 on the Sunday too!

Again, i was gutted that MAC only had MAC Pro and without any discount unless you had a MAC Pro Card (Which i dont have).
♥ Real Techniques Powder Brush ♥
I have been using this brush on a daily basis recently and have really loved using it. The size and shape of the brush makes it really lovely to hold. The bristles are synthetic and really soft and it has quite a large head so perfect for a dusting of powder. You can now pick this brush up in Boots for £10.99 but i managed to get it for £8.75 at IMATS.
♥ Real Techniques Stippling Brush ♥
I really must admit, i'm not overly keen on this brush. The first time i used it paired with foundation and it just seemed to sink all the product into the bristles and didnt leave much left for my face. I will continue to use it and maybe try it with cream blush to see if i like it that way instead. This has had some rave reviews on other beauty blogs though. I managed to pick this up for £8.75 also.
♥ Real Techniques Blush Brush ♥
I really do love this brush but i do find it quite large for blush as it is huge so i use it for all over face and neck bronzing. It has a lovely tapered shape and again is synthetic and super soft. This brush cost around £8 and i think in boots it retails for £10.
♥ Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer ♥
At first, i didnt really get on with this concealer. I would apply it to under both my eyes and found it really thick and heavy and quite hard to blend it. It also seemed to dry instantly too. I now apply it under each eye one at a time with my fingers to warm up the product ever so slightly, and work fast and it blends in lovely, looks really nice and covers my under eye circles. This cost around £13.
So thats everything i bought! Not a massive haul by any means! Aside from Illamasqua, there wasnt really anything else on my want list but i am happy with the products i did pick up and still enjoy using them!

Overall, I had a lovely weekend with some fab girls and saw some blogging beauties at the show!
Did you go to IMATS this year? What goodies did you pick up?

Nails Inc Baker Street Nail Polish & Giveaway

Happy Friday cupcakes!

Baker Street* is one of Nails Inc newest nail polishes that has just been launched.
Baker Street is a bright, cobalt blue which i think is perfect for Spring and is a limited edition colour. It is such a striking colour, and unlike anything i owned previously.

As you can see from above, this was painted over french white tips that you can still see ever so slightly with one coat of nail polish, to be absolutely opaque on these i think it would have needed two coats but you could possibly get away with just the one coat on natural nails.
I knew that i needed to get my hands on this ever since i saw the beaut that is Beyonce sporting this on her talons on one of her first outings after having her gorgeous daughter Blue Ivy as tweeted by her manicurist Lisa Logan:

Nails Inc nail polishes are quite large bottles at 10ml each and the consistency was lovely and didnt streak, overall i was very impressed with the glossy finish! Such a gorgeous colour that i cant wait to wear again when the sun has got its hat on!

You can get your hands on a bottle of Nails Inc Baker Street now from Debenhams for £11.

I also have a brand new bottle to giveaway!

All you have to do is be a follower of my blog either by GFC or Bloglovin and leave a comment below! Easy as that! I will inform the winner in 2 weeks time, on the 30th March!

Good luck everyone and thanks for reading as always!
