Review: Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask

Hello again!

The Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask* is the first product i have tried from the Moroccanoil brand after hearing so many amazing things about it so i couldnt wait to try it for myself.
It is a hair mask for medium to thick, dry hair to hydrate and condition. I used it as per the instructions that tell you to shampoo and condition your hair as normal then towel dry and apply a generous amount before coming through your hair and leave on for 5-7 minutes. It also suggests you use 1-2 a week which i have been doing.

The product itself is similar to other hair masks and is quite rich and thick in consistency that is quite balm like and smells amazing which i assume is the moroccanoil itself. My hair isnt in the greatest shape and doesnt get cut as often as it should therefore my ends are quite dry and split and as i have a accidental ombre going on at the minute it really does stand out (however i am holding out because i want long, princess hair!) My hair is pretty thick too so this is the kind of deep conditioning treatment that would work perfectly for my hair. Im not sure how it would work for those with fine or greasy hair.

I wash my hair as usual then actually get out of the shower and towel dry my hair. I will then use a generous sized amount of the product and distribute it evenly allover my hair, focusing more and the ends and not so much the roots. I then take my tangle teezer and comb the product through my hair. Even at this point my hair is detangling with ease and it feels super soft. I leave it on for longer than stated and around 10 minutes. My general thought is that the longer you leave it on the more it can do for your hair.

The second i start rinsing out i can feel the effect of the mask on my hair. It felt much thinner in consistency and believe me this is a good thing as my hair is usually so thick and huge and it felt so soft to touch. Probably the best it has ever felt if im honest!

Even my friends commented on the soft and silkiness of my hair when i had applied this mask the night before and im sure one even used the words 'its like stroking a cat!'

The thing with the Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask is that they say to only use it 1-2 a week as you should begin to see a difference and for your hair to improve so that you can use it less often which with regular use i can begin to see that my hair is in much better condition now than before i started using it.

In my opinion i do find this a pretty pricey product but as it is to be used only once or twice a week and less when your hair begins to improve then i think it is a sound investment and a tub will really last a while. I love my hair when i have used this as it turns my hair from thick, dry frizzy to smooth, sleek and shiny. Im in love! We spend so much money on cosmetics and skincare and sometimes i feel i give my hair no love at all so  this is a lovely product to have.

Have you tried the Moroccanoil hydrating mask or any other products in the range?

  1. I've got the treatment oil and I love it! It seems pricey too when you have to part with £30 but it lasts for so long and works so well that it's definitely worth it xx
