Hello sweethearts,
Dior Amber Diamond is one of those products that i lusted after for months and months but in a way couldnt really justify the £32 price tag, however was thrilled when i received this for my birthday from my wonderful boyfriend (from my recommendation of course, hes not that good!)
Dior is a brand i own very little from make up wise, i do own a couple of pairs of sunglasses but this is my first cosmetic item but i class it is as a luxe, high end brand that is up their with the likes of Chanel.
It is a gorgeous highlighter, that actually markets itself as a all over face powder, although i find that it would be a tad too shimmery for all over the face. It is made up of five shades, from light to dark ranging from off white to peach.
I blogged recently about the Sleek MakeUP Glo which i do think is extremely comparable to the Dior Amber Diamond.
The compact is the standard Dior compact case that is a shiny, navy blue with Dior embossed in silver on the top. It is also housed in a snazzy blue velvet pouch too to keep any scratches at bay. It really does feel luxe and a high quality product. Inside is a huge mirror which and of course the product itself.
Size wise you receive 10g of product for your money which i think is pretty reasonable and to and to put it into context is the same as NARS Laguna Bronzer. As i stated above this highlighter retails for £32 so is pretty pricey in my humble opinion, but it has a gorgeous sheen and does really give a lovely glow.
Having said that, I didn't find it to be too overly pigmented and needed a little building up. The swatches were used with my finger that needed swiping over the compact a couple of times but a brush picks up the product much more easier. I must be honest and say i havent really reached for this highlighter as much as i probably should have and tend to opt more for the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in perfect topping.
I have heard that they are actually discontinuing Dior Amber Diamond however i am unsure of how true this is.
Mine was actually purchased from Escentual which at £30.50 is a little cheaper than other retailers, and they also offer free shipping over £30 too and it arrived incredibly quickly. Other places you can buy it from are Debenhams and Selfridges.
I really do like this product but i dont think that this is a necessity in your make up bags by any means at all and it is something you can live without or find a cheaper alternative of. However i am a sucker for pretty, expensive products and when i hear the word 'discontinued' i seem to want things a whole lot more. Just me? Didnt think so!
Have you tried Dior Amber Diamond? What do you think of it?
xx
